Publishing results about military and secret service matters is, by nature, a continous process of trial and error. If you, who might know it better, note any inaccuracies or mistakes, please let me know. Every input is very welcome, if you wish so, your anonymity is guaranteed.
I predominantly use my own notes of many years monitoring, open sources in the web, JANE's Military Communications CD and publications of "Russia's Arms and Technologies XXI Century, Moscow". Absolutely no informations, like frequencies, structure of organisation, locations, etc, concerning Swiss ELINT/SIGINT activities or my former activity at strategic Radio Direction Finding stations will be disclosed here.
I receive valuable information from Tom DL8AAM, some WUN members, who remain anonymous to me, and I used some additional bits and pieces from WUN Newsletters.
Many updates of the CIS Navy activities have been possible through the professional inputs of Jim MPJ; thanks a lot Jim.
Many thanks go to Ary Boender, editor of Numbers & Oddities, who arranged important contacts and always is very helpful with valuable comments.
The extensive and topical description of the Russian VLF Network only was possible with valuable inputs of Rimantas Pleikys and Trond Jacobsen. Thanks, gentlemen!
The Newsletters of ENIGMA 2000 YAHOO Group is THE source for any Number Station related information and SAS und Chiffrierdienste for GDR/Russian encryption equipment. See my Links .
Pictures of more than trivial contents are labelled with the source. Upon first request any picture will be removed at once. All audio-clips and screenshots are home made, no copies.
Links to this website are highly appreciated, feel free to use any content of "Fascinating Shortwaves", however quoting the source is a matter of good manners.
And last, but not least: English is not my mother tongue, I've done my best, don't tear your hair!
